Revamped Sailing World Cup From 2017 – 2020

The sailing World Cup has been a foundation stone for the sailors to show their prowess and skills at the major event of the world, the Olympics and Paralympics. There is no better stage in sport than the Olympics and the world sailing has come up with a new strategy that will develop the skills of the sailors to take part in the Olympics.

The focus of the sailing world is now shifting from Brazilian waters in Rio to the Tokyo waters where the 2020 Olympic sailing events will be held.

The development of Olympic sailing is on the minds of the world sailing and the sailing World Cup series will be continuing to be a key part of the Olympic campaign of the sailors. The change now is that they are also looking to integrate Para World Sailing in their fold to create more sailing heroes and to increase the fan base for sailing – whilst many will be casual sailors that go on the cocasional Croatian Bareboat charter, they want as many fans as possible to turn up and see the events.
